$1,000 Challenge Ore Feeder,
AWARDED FIRST PREMIUM
At the Tenth Industrial Fair of the Mechanics’ Institute. .
aoe
It inay be considered us tow fully ilemonstrated, by careful and lowg-continued experimentation, that the plin
npon which u perfect ore feeder must be constructed is thut of the varrivy, and not that of tho shaking table, Uniform and accurate feeding is not possible upon the latter plan, The ore must be evenly carried, upon a steadily adyancing plane or table, to the line of diseharge, and there simply drupped. Spasmodie or jerky contrivances will not
nhswer the purpose, R S = E R = N re e S :
A letter received from the Julian Mill, Neweastle, says of the Carrier Feeder: “It1s the most perfect Feeder we
have ever seen; dan’t see how any mill can do without them.” A letter from Mr, C, C. Belding, of Amador
County, speaks in the highest terms of them. ‘Ywo of the machines were shipped to the Bunker Hill Mill,
also Gover Mill, Amador County. Mr. Stevenson, of Boston Mill, Gold Hill, Nevada, says they nre the best
Feeder he has ever secn.——Soulsby_ Mill, Tuolumne County California Company, Nevada City,

C. P. Stanford Fails to Come to Time on the Challenge of $1,000 to Test the Merits of
Hie Ore Feeder as Against Mine. The Challenge is Still Open to Him
or any one else. GENTLEMEN, Put up or Shut up. :
A letter has been received from the Crescent mine, Plumas County, in which it states that
the Tulloch is a failure as against the $1,000 Challenge Feeder of Hendy’s.
We warrant the machines to give perfect satisfaction, and to be a better and more durable Feeder than any other
in the market, and will sell them as chcap as any other of its class.
