ARRESTED FUR STEALING.—A man was
arrested in Grass Valley by Constable W.M.
Jefferds, of Timbuctoo, on Saturday evening . ™

whilst she was asleep. The officer had been

MELTING AWAY.—Snow fell on Friday
night to the depth of some eight inches, which
was augmented somewhat on Saturday and
Sunday. The warm sun of yesterdsy melted
