For the past eight years it has attracted the attention of «connoiseurs. of Whiskies at the South, and in «other portions of our country. ‘The consumption aud demand for it are daily hicreasing, and we are confident that it must supercede all other forms of restorative liquors, combining as it does every element of Purity, Strength, Palatability and Healthfatness, w ich ‘should char-—— acterize a beverage suited to our age and country. CAUTION AS TO COUNTERFEITS AND IMITATIONS. The high appreciation which connoisseurs and the pudue generally have ¢xtended to our ‘OLD MAGNOLIA ” and other brands of pure Whisky and the consequent dnerecasing demand for them . in all sections of the Country, have induced un principled parties to resort to the most unfair and disreputable imitations and counterfeits of wur brands and protluets. Wehave been advised by our correspondents in various sections of the cyuntry, that a common and very inferior Whisky has been sold under the names of ** Magfolia’ and ** Family Rye,’? thus injuring the . , ‘reputation of our own PURE and STANDARD article, and imposing wpon the publie inferior compounds. , i Andin San Francisco, our former colored cut of the Magnelia Flower has been. imitated ina ve ry inferior style, with our names incorrectly spelled, thus: ‘ “FREEMAN & SIMSON.” Inother cases, similar incorrect ways. of spelling Our names have bten resorted to by par ties who endeavor to evade the law, and at the same time to imitate our labels. We therefore call the attention of our customers, and of déalers generally, to the above facts, sand desire them to Observe tie correét spelling of our names on the packages. We also desire them-to notice that upen every barrel and package of our GENUINE articles, our names ure branded in full; and also, that to euth barrel and package is affixed OUR NEW CARD. With a view to prevent the success ef Impo sitions, Imitations and Counterfeits, we have «liscontinued the use of our former colored cut ofthe Magnolia Flower and have substitute for it a Card containing an engraving of ‘ Bac Pheeiilx’ Distillery on the Schuylkill river,” with eur name printed in full. These various attempts to imitate and counterfeit our Whiskies, and perhaps the best tributes ta the high reputation which they~have achicved. Inferior articles are never counterfeited. cine’) FREEMAN & SIMPSON. henix Distillery, on Schuy Hct tivers ‘ Philadelphia. s Tt SAW 138° Front Street, San Francisco. -Sole Agént for Freeman & Simpson’s Old Magnoliy Whisky. feb12-3m_ . _BETTER THAN ANY OTHER For sale by the trade, and & J.
