MEETING OF THE INDIGENT AND InpicNANT Cuws oF Nevaba.—The _ the bovine sisterboud of Nevada having reachRs mean and cruel course they have pursued tos : curious growth of the spring grass for rehef to their starving cows, thé latter resolved tu call a meeting in order to make known their grievances and express their disgust and coutempt of their masters. Accordingly at half-past two o'clock, yesterday afternoon, a brindle cow called ‘Suke,’ had a bell_put sround her neck and started through the town, varticularly through Spring strect and around Flagg’s stable, and notified all the sufferers that a meeting was to be held on Mr. Kelsey's lot, on Main strect, and . requiring their, immediate attendance. A . large assemblage was soon on the ground, but it being found that the lot had just been fenced in, and the cows present being so weak and emaciated that their united strength was not agreed that the meeting should be held in the alley immediately back of the lot. The crowd present, consisting of some forty cows, many of whom had their young look at. Their shaggy hides, tightly binding % mass of bones which scemed as if they would burst through their westher-beaten scribed ghastly circles, and the dull, dead eye One of the eldest of the number; a white. and red matron having a very young ealf by her side, then addressed the meeting, and in 4 voice faint « weak, unfolded a tale of woe. She said that as long as a blade of grass remained m the ravines or a leaf on the ~ branphés of the Gaks, she took care of her self and-brught home to her master, every night, ber bag full ofmilk, which he extract4 to the last drop; that when the grass and leaves were gone and her milk dried up in was cruelly denied everything, even a shelter from the pelting storms of winter by the bard and unfeeling master whom she thus bounti-~ fully supplied with milk during the summer, and te whom she had even given all her for. mer offspring. That not many days since, . when the young calf at her side was born unto her in the teeth of a frightful snow storm she barely escaped death through the humanity of a colored gent, who gave her food enough to keep her from “‘ shuffling off ber mortal coil.” : She was followed by another, a dun colored one, who accused the City Dads of showing an unjust partiality towards the hogs, in compelling their masters to keep them housed up and therefore fed, when not even a bit of shelter was provided for them. She was fol, lowed by others who all unfolded the same dale af woe, alter which the following preamble and resolutions were drawn up and unanimously adopted : WHEREAS, owing to a long train of abuses suffered at the hands of heartless owners, we are brought to that extremity that fore~ bearance ceases longer to be a virtue; therefore, be it resolved by the indigent indignant bovines of Nevada and vicinity that we declare our grievances and beg the sympathies of the humane. Resolved, that inasmuch as our former masters denied from us the milk of human the bleak, wintry pasture of a barren world, and as we have sm fed by sympatLizing friends and broaght to hope in the verdure of anether spring, we owe nothing to those who abandoned us to die, but all our sympsthies and attachments are due to the good Samaritans who took us in. need.
