Blunt. made a forced march of 34 miles with 5,000 men and defeated the enemy, who retreated to Van Buren. The Savannah Ga., Republican, states the loss of Confederates in battle, daring the laet ten months at seventyfive thousand. Estimates twenty-five thous-and killed in battle, or died of wounds, 25,000 died from sickness, and 25,000 maimed and ruined for life.
