Homicipe.—A difficulty occurred at
Washington. on Sunday morning between
Thomas Holland and a man by the name of
Koaminski, in which the former wae killed.
An investigation was had before the Justice
at Washington yesterday, and Kosminski
was held tu answer on the charge of mauslaughter before the next term of the Court
of Sessions. His bail wae fixed at $2,000.

of the Petomae of the 7th say the weather
is intensely cold. Some troops suffered severely for want of blankets. It is stated the

says, Gen. Geary with 3,600 infantry and 12
pieces of artillery marched into Winchester,
on the 34 inst., and demanded surrender
which was complied with the people exhibiting many signs of joy athisarrival. He first
met the enemy at Charlestown, routing them
and marched to Berrysville the same evening.
Next day he advanced beyond Occequar,
skirmishing with rebel cavalry and bivouacked between’ Berrysville and Winchester.—
