Peace Paopostrions.—In Congress, recontly, the Iet"slone policy urged upon the
Government by. Jett. Daxis.and‘the rebels,
‘has been boldly urged by the Peace Demo~

of Ohio has started the same cry in New
York by » conteurptible tirade aptn the Pu-ritane. These men, traitors at -heart, attempt, if such o thing were possible, to weakon the strength. of the ‘Union cause in the
West. They, upon the floor of the National

would degrade the Government if the eyes,

accepted, that'the great Weet will go with
the South. Thank God the. West does not

as Valandingham ‘and his followers. Ohio
does riot mike Sam Cox a medium to communicate her love for the Union. She speaks
through the thousands of ber sons that have
upon every field of battle. She speaks
through the memory of the past. and by the
hope of the future. The almost universal
shout’ of the West cannot be misteken; it is
fot war until a peace, honorable in its character. a peace that shall bring with it the unity of the nation, the subjugation of every
State to the Constitation. shall be establish.
od: This can only be.effected when not an
gem shall be raised against her authority. —
This is what the West, with every loyal man
of the nation, whatever be his place of residence, demands; and this alone will satisfy
