A New Soneme.—By polieaniheou sa:
vertisement in another éolamn of this issue,
it will be seen that an t has been
entered fnta bebween Ms. Julia Dean Hhyne
‘and M, Liebert, thé Daguerrean artist on
Broad street, by which Mrs.Hayne . will
“perform in the’ Nevada theatre ‘two nights}
__-more, (Monday and Tuesday-next.) In addi__ tion to the attraction which such an artist as
“Mrs. Hayne always offers to an audienee, the
further inducement is held oatat st ticket in
_ ML Liebert’s raffle. The price of admission
remains the same, viz: $1 a ticket—the only
difference being that it is uniform in all parts
-of the house. These raffle tickets. not -only
entitle the holder to a chance in the fine list
of prizes, but are also good for one dollar to
“be applied towards a daguerreotype, ‘ambrotype. or photograpbie likeness. Competition
is a great thing; in fadt, it’s said, by some, to
he the life of trade—albeit Lokalitums thinks
that too much is the death of it. This, however, is neither here nor there; it’s not our
nor the public’s business to make inquiries.
If people will work for nothing they ought,
by all’ means, to be encouraged ; and if the
house is not crammed on this occasion, there
is no use in trying. .

part. When Faylor in his part anounced
the astounding fact that his great grandfather
wedded the Doge of Venice! there were a
‘féw Nevadans that appreciated the absurdity
of the remark;and were inclined to goose
him; but respect for Mrs. Hayne checked 4
their sibilant propensities. There is much
talent in the company, and there is some little critical ability in the ‘audience which it
might be advisable to consult. Though so
far up in the mountains, we have all seen better days ; and a few of us have ventured

gentlemen, who are supporting Mrs. Hayne,
not to rely too much on the inspirations of
their own genius, but to give us the words
of the author, however.poor and insignificant .
they may be.

The wide reputation which, Dr. J. Hostetter’s ** STOMACH BITTERS ” have attained
during the past year bespeaks its excellence in a
more ferciblemanner than any words which we
can offer. It renovates, purifies and strengthens
the system, and aids the stomach in the performance ofits functions. It is regarded on all sides
as a sovereign specific, and, therefore, to procure
it in the hest possible way, -should be the object
of the public. We commend it with more than
