ceived, says steamer. Rattler direct from the
fleet at Vicksburg has arrived. She left that
place Monday evening, Dec. 29th, fighting
had been going on for five days, having com. mented. on Wednesday, Dec, 24th.

firing on the fourth and last line-of defenses
on the Jackson and Vicksburg Railroad had_
