ata late meeting of the Boxrd-of Managers of the State Agricultural Society a Committee was appointed to contract for silver
wate, for premiums for the next State Fair.
This Committee, composed of JC. Davis.
.W. Light and FF. Fargo, has recently
made a contract ‘with Tucker & Co., of San
Francisco, who will furnish some 350 pieces,
tobe manufactured by Vanderslice & Co.,
of Washoe silver of the fineness of United
States coin. These prizes will consist of
at from $75 to $50; salvers at $50;
qeancrs at from $50 to $30; ice bowls at
$40; goblets at from $10 to $50 per pair,
and a variety of other useful and ornamental
atticl’s. The arms of the State will be
wrought on one side of most of these artidles, tind the seal of the Society on the other.
Each article will contain upon it a design
adapted to the department, whether agricu!tural, mechanical or otherwise, to which it
awarded. The entire contract will amount
toa little over $5,000. .
