seen at Tom Holmes’ and Archie McAllister’s
markets, from the celebrated apiary of Mr.
Hiram H:milten, near Stockton. The honey was taken from the bees jast fall-and is

ALARM OF FIRE.—AIl households turned
out at a few minutes past mid-night on Tuesday night, foran alarm of fire. A nice little
bonfire appeared on Boulder street. The
alarm demonstrated the efficiency ot the fire
department. All the companies were out
prowptly. In fact, it is stated one company
was actually out before the alarin was given.
A tar barre! had been set on fire in order
to give the companies a chance to cheer the
new engineer in passing his house. Unfor
corapsmes cheered themselves hoarse withou;
the benefit of chuimpagne.

Dougherty advertises his Stage Line between
paper. The stage runs three times a day
parts to visit the celebrated A'lison mine
with convenience and dispatch. It is a great
convenience also to the public.
Man KILLED.— A man nuned Wm. Smith
was killed on Tuesday at Moore’s Flat by an
accident. In puttiug up une of Matteson’s
water power Derricks, the ropes became entangled and in endeavoring to right them, a
pin came ont and the whole thing fell on
Smith, killing him instantly. The accident
eccured in Beck & Co's. diggings.

two story wing 21 by JU feet, fur a female

specifications will be published, and bide for
the construction of the wing advertised for.
G. V. NATIONAL. — We learn that the material for a new office is about to arrive and
that the Grass Valley Natzoual will agaio appear in two or three weeks. The new office will be iu Smith’s new brick building,
on Main Street, adjoining the Exchange Hotel.
