AY, pad St, re they nt warsctured, tore of DAY? i q 7. ante generally are not disposed to sell for . 3 i 9 : ew sunpat MORNING, MAY 10th. ern erent “Correr.—Copper stocks sre rising in. value. The developmenta made in our copper region dyring the last week have shown that some of the companies are not without ‘wich ore, and others are bringing out to the light the best of indications. We vecasionally see pieces of reek from the various lodes, as the companies progress downward. A comparison of the pieces taken from each claim at the various stages show favorably in many instanees, the rock growing better generally as the shafts go downwards. Of ‘ course, there are some exceptions. “Tif consequence of the favorable signs, copper interests sell better than they did. Sales liave been made in the Distillery within a fow days at fifteen dollars a foot, but c'aim< tess than twenty dollars a font, and some of the larger stockholders wonld not sell at that price. The Consolidated Company has levied an assessment of two dollars a share for the purpose of developing the lead. The fine ore being raised from the Well claim, which is but-a few feet from the Consolidated and on the same lead, is considered first rate evidence that the Consolidated is good: In fact. the evidences found in the shaft of the Consolidated are supposed to establish the value of the ground. The prospects are counted #0 flattering that shares in the company have risen in two weeks a hundred and fifty per cent. ~ There are-no shares for sales in the Well claim that we are aware of. Nor has an interest been sold in it for some° time. The proprietors seem ta be perfectly satisfied that they have all they want and are gojing te elingto the fortune. but_justahead. But the best prospects on the surface are obtained on the district further ap. We learn that interests have been sald in the Last Chance claims for twenty~five dollars a foot, whieh i is no price at all if the prospects are as goed as represented. On the whole, then, we conclade that where verdigris was in sight but two or three weeks ago. bright enpper is beginning to appear; yet. we would atill cantion onr friends from going in heads long after copper stock: =~ Mixstrets.—Sam. Wells and company, (everybody knows that bully cempany) are dilled to appear at the theatre on Tuesday night, The house always fille when that troupe comes around. “It will fill again. « EF Divine service will be held this morn~ ing at the Methodist and Congregational Churches at 11 o'clock. te Blasauff offers for sale, at the City Brewery, fixtures and material for the man ufacture of Visegar. C3" We understand that the Leighton ‘Troupe, under the management of A. R. _ Phelps, will appear shortly at the Metropol‘itan Theatre. t¥” The Democrat says it is a sound Union institution and always was. So let it be. We are willing it should have the benefit of all doubts. ce” Our San i says its language cone eerning a certain matter is intelligible te the ‘dullest intellect, By which we are to understand the editor knows what he means. Speak WELL or THe Deav.—The Democrat did’nt starve out, buat like the Yankee’s calf,“‘kind o’ gin eout,” last night.— Our long-time cotemporary expects to re~ surrect in Washoe by endby.
