Tue Cornish Mit.—From 704 tous of rock recently crushed at this mill 194} ounees of gold, or $3,300 was taken out. The lead from which the above amount was taken has but recently been developed, and ~ the precious metal being generally diffused the rock gives it the appearance of being a steady paying lode. The owners, a8 is usuaj in such cases, flatter themselves that the quartz willimprove in richness as it goes downwards. We hopeit-will. But even at the present rates it is a big thing, costing buy about $3 to raise the rock, which with a fair price for hauling and, crushing, leaves a good dividend.
