WEDNESDAY MORNING, MAY 13th.
Tue Cornish Mit.—From 704 tous of
rock recently crushed at this mill 194}
ounees of gold, or $3,300 was taken out.
The lead from which the above amount was
taken has but recently been developed, and
~ the precious metal being generally diffused
the rock gives it the appearance of being a
steady paying lode. The owners, a8 is usuaj
in such cases, flatter themselves that the
quartz willimprove in richness as it goes
downwards. We hopeit-will. But even at
the present rates it is a big thing, costing buy
about $3 to raise the rock, which with a fair
price for hauling and, crushing, leaves a good
dividend.
