H. Boardinan and B. Harrigan. Goodrich gave a reading at the Theatre on Thursday evening to a good audience. The entertainment consisted of reading the Hunchback, several original pieces of poetry, and a tecture of the Duty of California Ladies to their country. Miss Goodrich enunciates distinely and well. Every word thatdrops from her lips is full, with not an angle or a sprangle mar_ red. But she is too monotonous in the intonations of her voice. Thechurches of Nevada and Grass Valley united in a grand union pie-nic. about half way between the two towns in a beautiful grove, and thus all the Sabbath school children and a large share of the population of the two places were brought together. So far as our town was concerned all the teams of the place were kept. going to and from the grounds frem 8 o’clock in the morning tilldark. The crowd was immense.
