Republic, without, in our opinpany hn cause on the part of the Insurgent ; and, whereas, it is the duty of patriots uphold their couatry’s honor, as well against traitors as foreign foes, in the hour of need: therefore, . “Resolved, that-we, the citizens of Nevada, declare our unalterable devotion to the Union as formed by the patriots of 1787; that regarding that Union’ as essential to free’ government, we will cling to it.as the sheet anchor of Americin. liberty ; that, come what will,.in.the spirit-of our fathers, we are resolved to support and sustain the Covstitution; the laws, and the flag of country against all enemies, foreign or domestic ; and, finally, without distinction of party, that we come together as a band of patriotic brothers, burying all partisan feeling, for the good. of our common country, and pledge ourselves to ‘eo-operate with and defend the government and its rulers in all constitutional efforts to maintain the integrity of the Union. Resolved, That the holy memories of our revolution. the blood of patrivts slain, the wisdom of the sages whoformed our constitation, the traditions and glories of the past and hopes'for the future, all call upon us to sustain the government in its present struggle, and to guard the unstained flag of our Union from foes without or traitors within. The offending Chinaman was brought before Justice Kendall, who fined him: $25, which was paid and the offender discharged. NN U, 8. FLEET IN THe GULF.—The vessels of war, said to have been ordered, by the federal. government 'to operate in the Gulf of Mexico, are as follows : The steam frigates Roanoke, Minnesota, Wabash, Merrimac, Colorado, mounting 40 guns-each, and the Sabine mounting 50 guns; the war-s Cumberland, St, is and Jamestown, 24, 20and 22 guns respectively ; the steam sloops Brooklyn, Mississippi, Powhattan, Pawnee, Pocahontas, Wyandotte, Mohawk, Crusader, mounting from 4 to 25 guns each ; the entter Harriet Lane, Sgans steamér Water Witch 3 guns ; and’ briges Perry, Dolphin, and Bainbridge, mounting from 4 to 6 guus each. Total number of ves, sels 22 ; total number of guns 414. This fleet will require a force of 4,000 sailors and marines te man it. Many of the vessels hav been ordered to take on board an extra supply of boats, Dahlgreen-boat-howitzers and small ammunition, which is thought to look as though. the fleet were to. operate -in consloop Brooklyn, frigate Sabine, sloop-of-war St Louis. and steamers Crusader and Wyandotte are now in active service near Fort Pickens The Government has steam transportsin its service .
