APPEAL is made through this method to the patriotism of the people of NEVADA COUNTY, to rally to the call of their Country, now in her hour of peril and need. Itcannot 43 that patriotism and valor are wantIng among Americans. Their heroism has been most signally displayed in two Wars against Great Britain, and against the Mexican States. Greater and more necessary, and consequently more glorious, is the contest in which our Country is engaged against intestine foes. What was comparatively a pastime when engaged with foreign enemics, has become a herculean labor now. e Nation wants Soldiers—Soldiers in heart and soul Who will see their Country in distress without flocking to her glorious but insulted Standard!
