OUT, 18. erOn Thursday aftetnoon the ‘Ladies Lint Assuciation” met at the Pennsylvania Engine House, and a very large namber of ladies were in attendance. In the evening . there were about 40 ladies present, besides sume 20 gentlemen, all busily engaged in pre. paring lint for the wounded soldisirs in the araily. The prompt manner in which the ladies of Nevada have taken hold of this matter is certainly deserving of great. praise.: Like the ladies of the revolution, they are ready to work and give liberally towards alleviating the sufferings of those who are risking their lives and their all to preserve this glorious Union. The time will certainly come when the gallant ladies of Nevada will look back upon these kind acts as one of the most pieasant episodes of their lives. Now is the time toact, and we earnestly urge upon those ladies who have not as yet readered any aid iv preparing lint, to jein in this God-like cause.-4 Let it be be said of Nevada, not only has she given as much y to the Sanitary Fund, but her ladies have excelled all other towns of ite size in the State, in proportion to her population. ; GoNnet.—A we'll known character bas departed from earth, Francis J. He is reported to be a descendent of the eld Virginia Randelph stock, and if so, his idiosyncrasies were leg:timate. This street hae been a terrible eye sere for several years past. In the winter time the mud “is about two feet deep, and during the summer months it is the same depth of dust. When the Marshal completes the job we may expect to see it one of the best streets in the. town.
