The preeseatngy: “of the — Conven: “tion of Bree] 1 which wae-held in the Court House, on Satoy) Meday, aré published, in full, if this morning's ‘TRANSCRIPT. This is done, partly by requesy” . anid partly beeatise, as far aa otf little sheet. will warrant, we wish “to give all the news, political of otherwise; which we conceive of: general interest. Our TRANSCRIPT, as we have already stated, belongs to-no party and does not wear the livery of any politician, nevertheless its four. proprietors have their: political predilections, and, on election day, . ‘ _avill not vote the same ticket. The _TRans-. / CRIPT firuiis an apt, though not colossal, exunplification ef that large liherty which enawe. bles: men, of sense, though entertaining diverse ~epinions, to live und work together in harmony. Our intention is, without committing our {. piper to any one of the political. parties, to sive-to-each-of them what the hatters-eall “a fair shake.” In saying: this, we do not} wish to be understood as offering our col‘Winiis fo” frantié “partiziit ~ winngters;~-whe-+ might ‘wish(to use them as a medium for. polemi¢al -dixphy.— Whatever we do fer the politicians wi be done, as in the present instance, in-# purely business spirit, and in our legitynate sphere, as caterers of general intelligence. “Enough on this head. . The Breckinridge Convention presented an e xceedingly respectable appearance, both, as it grarumarian would say, in number and per_son._Indeed, for the matter-of respectability; ~ all the ‘party Couventions that have heen held ~.\in our city, this season, are entitled to very high commendation. It argues well for the great mass uf the population of Nevada County, when we see the three great political parties, into which it is divided, sending gentlemen of such fine personal appearance and excellent: intellect to represent them: in their Conventions. Like the Republican -and Douglas. Conventions, which preceded it, the _ Breckinridge Convention transacted its business harmoniously and in the best of temper. at : the quatifications of its nominees” it is not owe provinee to speak ; all that-wve cheerfully le ave where it vught te be left, tu the popular juin CY 4 ait. gigs mae REPuy BLICAN wasrite. >The Repubhisuturday,” evening, numbering about. 1000.— They. were addressed by Thos. Our brother of the Grass Valley National, Judge C.F.
