Yuba River, now the site of French Corral, Nevada County (I). :

ws-through Penn Valley. There was a good spring near the village, which
was large and had an important kum (I).

\ in diameter" (I). Dick Childs, my Nevada City informant, said that Pleasant
\Valley-lies below Smartsville, towards Marysville, in Yuba County, but I am .
unable to ascertain its exact location.
Mom in ku * -= On a knoll above Dry Creek, about half a mile to the east of
StanffeTd Hill, Yuba County. The head man was called Wu pus (J).
Tu hu * -~ Situated at what is now Virginia Ranch on Dry Creek, a mile and a
half south of Stanfield Hill. The head man was called Sam huk, that 1S,
Captain Sam (J).
Pol om yan * -On a knoll southwest of where Dry Creek forks with another
smalT creek. It is called Tennessee House now. Wu pus was head man there, as
well as in Mom in ku (J).
Kal_o ma * ~~ The site of this village is on a knoll, now covered with live
oak and brush, about 50 yards from the house in which Henry Thompson lives.
My informant owned the kum, traces of which are still visible (J).
Nak nak * -On Willow Creek, between Oak Valley and Camptonville in eastern
Yuba County (1).
Pan ko yo * -A large settlement between Challenge and Strawberry Valley in
northeastern Yuba County (I).
