The Minstrels.
Robert J. Togereail ¢ once temarked that
the only real -hearty langh he. ever etijoyed
‘was on the occasion of a visit to Richards &
Pringle’s ,Famous. Georgia Minstrels, at
Washington, D. C, The witticisms get
facial contortions of Billy Korsands completely captured the Colonel, and he has
mever since failed to-pay a visit to the
minstrels when in his neighborheod: : If the
* Colonel should by chance visit Richards: & .
Pringle’s entertainment this season, he, as
well as all others, will be greatly surprised,
as the manager has fairly eclipsed all their
previous efforts; as in former years, sweet .
melodies; up-to-date witticisms, drills and
dances make up a programme of genuine
minstrelsy. Silks, satins, velvets, Araba,
Japanese, and-all other features foreign to
good old-time minstrelsy find no place with
Richards & Pringle, and that is the reason
‘he company has expeience of 24 successful
seasons. Richards & Pringle’s Georgias will

to ‘plane down” a form. The striking of
the majle¢ upon the planer produced quite a
éound, Almost instantly the gentleman at

from Sacramento was received without further interruption. It seems strange that
although the party who was causing the
noise stood fully twenty feet from the
telephone, with a partition intervening, the
vibrations produced operated upon the
sensitive instrument to such an extent that
‘the pound'ng was not only plainly heard at
Sacramento, sixty miles distant the way the
wires run, but actually interrupted the party
