The Argonauts of Grass Valley and the Curly Bears of this city have already announced a program of attractions that will cauge every one and hie wife and babies, sisters and sweethesrts to wish to go. The features decided upon so far are: A tug-of-war between the Curly Bears and Argonauts; a fat man’s race, for which several entries are already made, etc.; besides this a shooting gallery, a phonograph and photograph galleries will be in operation. There will be a refreshment stand at which ice cream, candies, fruita and lunches will be sold. Jobo W. O'Neill of this city and M, J. Brock of Grass Valley have charge of the business part of the preparations. Found the Money ‘Chock in His Grave. A strange circamstance has just come to light, Several years ago a Mr, Sherwood died and was buried in a his clothes. . Although he was supposed tohave money, it could not be found. It was noticed that Hibernia ‘Bank of San Francisco advertised an unclaimed deposit of $1400. It occurred to those interested to dig up the Mrs, A. H. The Kentucky Political Disgrace. Is the situation in: Kentucky going to become like that of a South American republic? Are the citizens going to be arraigned in hostile feuds forever, to the disgust and danger of the commonwealth? The national administration has refused to interfere so fat, in deference to the very proper law and tradition which decrees-that a S‘ate shall settle its own troubles if they stop short of armed insurrection; but it may not be justified in much longer holding off. A godd way to settle the whole trouble would be to fire out both those who claim tobe. the. Governor, and bave a new and fair election with an honest count. Neither side has conducted its side of the conteat in a way to command ‘support from its party, and both have provoked the disapproval of law-abiding people the country over.
