The Kentucky Political Disgrace.
Is the situation in: Kentucky going
to become like that of a South American republic? Are the citizens going
to be arraigned in hostile feuds forever, to the disgust and danger of the
commonwealth? The national administration has refused to interfere so
fat, in deference to the very proper
law and tradition which decrees-that a
S‘ate shall settle its own troubles if
they stop short of armed insurrection;
but it may not be justified in much
longer holding off. A godd way to settle the whole trouble would be to fire
out both those who claim tobe. the.
Governor, and bave a new and fair
election with an honest count. Neither
side has conducted its side of the conteat in a way to command ‘support
from its party, and both have provoked
the disapproval of law-abiding people
the country over.
