Qualification . of Voters, The City Trustees a: recently sent an inquiry to Attorney-General Fitzgerald in regard to the qualifications of voters at a city election. Fire in a Store. There was a still alarm of fite between 5 and 6 o’clock last evening, caused by a small blaze at the shoe store of John Webber, Broad street, Hut cinders from the stovepipe where it enters the chimney fell upon some boxes of shoes and set fire, burning the boxes and contents, and also two overcoats. About $100 damage was done. When the fire was discovered the room was full of smoke and the blaze was getting a start, Two or three buckets of water thrown on the fire by Ralph Webber. put it out, Died at Yreka. Beri, April 11.—There is a great.sensation in court and military circles over another duel growing out of the anonymous letter scandal, which took place in the woods near Potsdam between Baron Von Schrader and Count Von Kotz. They fought with pistols, Baron Von Schrader was wounded, Count Von Kotz had been accused of writing the letters, but was re~cently tried rnd acquitted. Bishop Ryan Dead. Burrato, April 10,—Bishop Ryan died this morning. Reno, Nev., April 10.—The jury in the Vaughan murder case returned a verdict of murder in the first degree.
