HER DRPARTURE REGRETTED,
Farewell Recoption Tt Tendered Miss Morgu by the Epworth League,
The seceptich tendered to Miss Rachel
Morgan last evening by the members: of
the Epworth League, of which Miss Rachel
is one of the Vice Presidents, was largely
attended. Jn fact, had the roll been called
a very few would have had to be marked
‘tabsent.””
The occasion of this social gatering was
the approaching departure from their
midst of one of the League’s leaders and of
one of its most ardent workers, Miss
Morgan leaves in a few days for San Francisco, where she, will reside for some time.
Accordingly invitations were issued to
her fellow members of the Epworth League,
in whose development: she has been. so instrumental, to'meet her and wish her God
speed on her journey,
The following program was rendered:
Song by the League,
Prayer by the President,
Solo, ‘-Love’s Old Sweet Song,”
Lottie Martin,
Deuble Quartette, ‘‘Roll Call.”
Violin Solo, ‘‘Boneath That Low Thatched
Roof Again,’ Mies Mae Martin,
Solo, ‘I Can’t Forget the Happy Past,”
Mies Evelyn Reynolds,
Duet, ‘One Summer Day,” Miss Lehr
and Ralph Eddy.
Double Quartette,
the League,
After the rendition of the above a fine
banquet was served, Toasts followed,
which were characterized by ‘‘silent responses” that expressed in language more
suggestive than words the sorrow that prevailed within the hearts of those present,
We regret that space will not permit of
a more exhaustive report, but suffice it to
say that never were expressions of sorrow
nor prayers for the future of a departing
guest more fervent than those that were uttered in the farewells extended to Miss
Morgan. ‘May’ she ever prosper and be
with us soon again.
