A star quite new to this part. of the country is announced for next Friday evening at the Nevada Theater, when Isabel Irving, long known as one of the cleverest of American comediennes will be seen here fer the firet time as Virginia Oarvel in Winston Oharebill’s dramatization of his famous novel, “The Orisis.” Miss Irving was for many years the most popular woman player in New York. Asleading women at the famous old Lyceum stock company she won literally hundreds of thousands of friends and later in the same position with Jobn Drew she added to her pgpularity. The demand for her services had kept Miss Irving ia New York and away from the road for nearly ten years. During the past two seasons she has been starring under the management of James K. Hackett in “The Orisis,” having begun her career as a estar within a few monthe from the time Mr. Hackett made bis firet production of this very successfal play, when’ it was found “The Crisis” really needed a women star for the leading part rather than a map. So great was Miss Irving’s success in this part that ut the beginning of the present seasop, Mr. Hackett announced that he would relinguieh all rights in “The Crisis” to her, and seek a new play for himeelf. So far this season Mise Irving has played in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Wasbington, Pittsburg, Detroit, Olevelaud, St. Louie and other cities almost as large. Ber success has been something extraordinary. She will shortly take “The Crisis” to the Pacific coast for the firet tim6, where it is expected that the play will create the furore it has in all other parts of this country, ee Robbed the Grave. A startling incident is narrated b A marriage license has been: iesaed at San Francisco to Robert EB. Orowley and Mrs, Olaire Lb. Dunnicliff, daughter of John Dunnicliff of this city. -.
