Lefluah Payne, a native of England,
aged 58 years, died at his home on
Alta Hill, Grass Valley, yesterday,
after a lingering illness lasting many
mooths. Death was caused from
minere’ consumption. Deceased was
a prominent member of the Red Men,
Degree of Pocabontas and Temple of
Honor fraternities and was quite well
known at this city.
