From the Chico Enterprise. ] There seems to be a disposition in some of the Northern counties to let the District Fairs go by default this year. The meeting which should have been held ten days ago in Chico, of the delegates of the Northern Circuit failed to materialize, and has been postponed. The following letter from Jo D. Sproul to John T. Brittan, of Colusa, shows the state of feeling in the circuit : Cuico, Cal., April 18, 1894. Joun T. Brittran—Dear Sir: It is impossible just now to state when-.we can hold a meeting. Marysville says she won’t go against Woodland and Nevada City as they have dont in the past and will not fix their dates until those places have settled on theirs. Willows people report times so hard and money so scarce that it is doubtful if “they hold a racing meeting at all, and with the present dry weather on us, onr prospects here at Chico are not the most encouraging. If we get rain it will perhaps be all right, but if not, it is all wrong. Therefore, with matters in their present unsettled’ state I hardly know what to say or advise. However, there is time yet. The 15th of May will atill be ample time to announce our dates and arrange, programmes and by that Ngime the condition of the crops will be settled one way or the other. Yours Truly, Jo D. SPROUL.
