A representative of La Porte Consolidated Mining Company of Plumas county appeared before the AntiDebris Commission, at the rooms of the Board of Supervisors of Sacramento, one day last week, endeavoring to have the injunction issued against their hydraulicking their claims dissolved. The company claims that the dam which they have is sufficient to restrain all the debris, and that the injanction is working an unnecessary hardship apon them. Tbe Commission appointed a committee to investigate the matter, who, if the facts warrant, will take action as requested by the company. Chicken Dinner. Bliss, Manager of the Lake Tahoe railroad, ran the firet train for the season into Truckee from Tahoe Friday afternoon. ‘The train had been on the-road several days making slight repeirs and diverting the snow waters from the track. The road is in excelient condition after the hard winter. Regular trips will be made after May 15th. The railroad conrpany already has seven or eight miles of track ballasted between here ani Reno. By fall the entire distance will be covered. Heavy steel is also being laid. New and more substantial bridges will be built and in some places crossings will be filled in and arches put over streams. This will be done at Boca and a double track laid across the Little Truckee. After Infringers. oe George J. As stated in lust Saturday evening's TRANSORIPT, all the preliminaries for an immediate starting up of work on the electric railroad between Grass Valley and this city are being perfected. Ground will broken just as svon as possible and the work will be pushed ahead to. an early completion of the new enterprise. Mr. Martin announces that he has completed the purchase of the Napa Gas and Electric plant on which’ he will assume control on May lst. This places the following six cities in his chain of plants: Marysville Chico Woodland, Napa, {Grass Valley and Nevada City, while the four other communities of Petaluma, Santa Rosa, San Rafael and San Quentin will sLo't ly come into his possession. San]. Quentin, Ross Valley and Mill Vailey will be operated from the San Rafael plant. With the ten plants mentioned combined under a single ownership Mr. Martin will control probably what is the largest illumination business outside of the great cities, in the United States.
