Dropped Dead.
John F. Yeates dropped dead in_ his
yard at Kentucky Fiat, yesterday afternoon. He had been afflicted with consumption and heart trouble for some
years. Deceased was 47 years of age
and a native of Missouri. He leaves an

besides a son living at Marysville. It
is possible that an inquest may be held

‘The murdered man was a ‘halt-breed
Indian known as Willie George, who
‘was ethployed on the ranch of William
George below Grass ‘Valley. He was

A post mortem examination this afternoon showed that: George had been
stabbed eight times, two of the wounds
being’ necessarily fatal. The wound
‘that probably caused death was:in the
left side, “between the seventh and
eighth ribs, the knife’ penetrating the
lung,.and was. evidently made with
a long bladed knife. There was another ugly wound on the right shoulder near the neck, an artery having
been severed. The other cuts were on
the shoulders and chest.

Frank Tom did all the stabbing. Tom
ahd his squaw came to the camp last . jatest
night, and late? another Indian came.
