He has sound judgment as to the proper and most efficient methods which should be employed for the development of our county’s resources and the} upbuilding of our commonwealth. The suggestions made by Judge Fulweiler are good ones and if followed out would result in incalculable and permanent benefit to Nevada County, and for this particular reason we hope that.they will be wisely considered by our local Chamber of Commerce. After speaking about the Improvement Club which has been organized at Auburn for the improvement of the town and surrounding country and increasing the population, the Judge said in part: “T have been listening to the reading of your by-laws and am very much pleased with them. I would suggest, however, that you add to your Chamber of Commerce a committee on immigration. I believe that your organization should work for the development of surrounding country for the prosperity of the surrounding country will assist in the permanent prosperity of your city. I would: suggest that the committee get bonds on mines and land so that when people come here to invest you will have a long list of desirable properties for them to choose from. By the liberal and judicious advertising of your resources and the efforts of} the Chamber of Commerce, the population of Nevada county should be increased to the extent of 5000 within the next two years. You havearare county; you can grow anything here, and besides, you have the best mines in the State.” F. J. Johnson, $15.75. E, B. Power, $21.10. H. ©, Schroeder, $28 50.
