He was bathing. with a party and suddenly without a struggle sank to the bottom, face downward, in five feet of water. His body was rescued within three or fonr-minntes time but whentaken from the water his heart had ceased to beat. Dr. Brigham decided that death was caused by heart trouble. Lieutenant Brown was stationed at the Presidio in Sam Francisco and was aged 28 years. The remains were shipped to Chicago for interment. Not a Suecess.
