Dr. Swayze examined the shoulder of Mrs. Neal of Town Talk Saturday, by an Xray, and easily located the fracture which she sustained several days ago. Anderson and Charles Painter. Lieutenant Ralph P. Brown of the Artillery Corps died near Tallac, Lake Tahoe, Thursday afternoon. He was bathing. with a party and suddenly without a struggle sank to the bottom, face downward, in five feet of water. His body was rescued within three or fonr-minntes time but whentaken from the water his heart had ceased to beat. Dr. Brigham decided that death was caused by heart trouble. Lieutenant Brown was stationed at the Presidio in Sam Francisco and was aged 28 years. The remains were shipped to Chicago for interment. Not a Suecess. Ed Beker, Charles Steffen, Fenton Fleming, Daniel Doyle and Walter Tompkins, members of Co. O, who were in camp at Sante Oruz, returned home on last evening’s train. Tickell, Muller and Jamieson Saturday; and pronounced insane. Judge Nilon declared the man {nsanhe, and committed him to the Stockton Asylum. A huge piece of quartz from the Empire mine, Grass Valley, was transferred from the Narrow Gauge to the 8. P. Co., at Colfax this week for the Nevada County exbibit at San Francisco.
