Fell Into a Skylight,
Yesterday afternoon, about 4 o’clock,
a@ young son of J.C. Dygert, whois a
guest at the National Hotel, met with .
a mishap which might have had a seri.
ous ending. The boy was sitting near
the skylight over the Postofiice, in the
hotel, and he lost his balance and fell
partly tbrough a portion of the glase in
the frame-work. Luckily, he was held
in that position until his cries were
heard and asgistance came to his relief. As it was, the little fellow received two gashes on one of his legs
and lost considerable blood.
It happened that there was no one in
the Postoffice at the time, which, perhaps, was fortunate, ae quite a lot of
the heavy glass fell tothe floor. _
A Good Day’s Outing.
The excursion to Olympia Park yesterday was well attended, and that

Doing Much Damage.
Destructive Forest Fires Tow
Burning.
Theodore Schwartz, who was in town
today from Pleasant Valley, reports
that a forest fire broke out Sunday
evening near the Hudson mine, and is
rapidly spreading over a vast amount
of territory. Although people living
in the vicinity bave been fightiug to
save their property the fire still remains unchecked in some directions,
Chas, Ashburn Jr. and R. W. Gariison went to ©. l’axon the early train
this morning to assist in repairing the
damage done to the Sunset Telepone
Co.’s line by. the big forest fires in that
vicinity. Many telegraph and lelephone poles have been destroyed and
the companies are working bard to
keep the lines is working order.

A forest fire started on the Sutton
ranch, pear the Narrow Gauge railroad,
this morning. For a short while the
flames gained great headway. A large
force of men turned out and they soon
got it under control.

treasury for payment of the expenses
of the judge, providing one be called.
Judge Nilon, who is much in need of
a‘rest, intends to make good use of the
