That Suit,
——
ome; referring to the suit of John Bradley
against S, P. Dorsey of the Maryland mine,
athe Grass Vulley Tidings says: Thus the
case has terminated as all who were informed in the matter thought it would.
There was never any ground for Bradley’s
suit, He was not instrumental in the slightest degree in securing purchasers for. Mary—
~tand stock.” Although he had held corres—
pondence and conferences with Mr. Dorsey
concerning a negotiation with parties whom
Bradley claimed he could influence, the
capital for the. purchase of the Maryland
mine was taken out of the mine itself, independent of any outside assistance. Mr,
Dorsey is to be congratulated in getting rid
“of the suit without further annoyance,

A Musical Town.
Nevada City, considering ‘its size, has
as many musicians ‘and vocalists, amateur
and professional, as any town in the country. A walk through the residence or business portion any evening will give a person
an idea of our musical qualifications. There
is music all around and of great variety, and
much of it is considerably above the average of local talent in other places,
Excursion Trains.
It is probable that beside the regular excursion train which will run to Colfax -on
the day of the Wallace circus, leaving this
city at 8 a. M. and returning immediately
after the afternoon performance there will
be an extra train in the evening, which will
convey excursionists at the same rate—$]

WHO WILL LEAD?
In the Matter of Representative In the
Convention to Be Held Next week.
A convention kas been calléd to meet in
San Francisco Monday next, of the friends
of bimetaliam and free coinage of the white
metal. In several counties delegates have
been chosen by calling mass meetings of
electors who favor a double standard. In
other counties there are organizations favorable to silver and they have elected delegates to attend the convention. ‘There is
little doubt that there will be a large attendance and a State organization effected,
In this county there has been no action
taken, so fur as can be learned, to send one
or more representative of silver to the couvention. Who will take the lead in the
movement to elect one or more persons, or
will the matter be permitted: to go by default? A meeting can be called for Saturday evening at the Court House, to which
all who favor bimetalism should be requested
to attend, Thig meeting can then elect delegates who will attend, then the county will
be in line and drop into the fight in 1896 in
good shape. The columns of the TranSCRIPT are open to the gentlemen who will
. atartthe ball rolling, through—a—call fora}
mass meeting.
There are in this city many strong friends
of silver and advocates of free ° coinage.
An opportunity is now offered for them to
show their loyalty to the cause and prove
that they are sincere in their expresssons on
this important question,. There is an old
rhyme that runs thusly: ‘A man of words
and not of deeds is like. a garden: full of
weeds.’ We trust our silver men will not
allow this to apply to them.

Marvelous Results.
From a letter written by Rev. J. Cunderman, of Dimondale, Mich., we are permitted
to make this extract: ‘'] have no hesitation
iu recommending Dr. King’s New Discovery,
as the results were almost marvelous in the
case of my wife. While I was pastor of the
Baptist Church at Rives Junction she was
brought down with Pneumonia succeeding
LaGrippe. Terrible paroxysms of coughing
pearly st hours with little interruption and
it seemed ag if she could not survive them,
A friend recommended Dr, King’s New DisTrial bottles free satisfactory in results.”
