A FINE PROGRAM OF
ENTERTAINMENT AND SPORT
FOR OUR VISITORS.
~HE.-PROGRAM.mapped.out,.by.the committees.for,
the entertainment of the excursionists and visitors
who will arrive here shortly, is one of the best ever
prepared by our people for any occasion, and we’ are
sure that the strangers who come to Nevada county will go
home with the very pleasurable realization and satisfaction
that they have seen the best country on earth. Many of
our visitors will not feel satisfied and contented whea they
reach their Eastern homes, but will begin to make preparations and plan to come to California and live, and cast in
their lot with the people of Nevada county, as well as with
people in other portions of the State. The more the Easterners see of California and its hopitable people the more
they feel constrained to become identified with our interests
and prosperity.
The reception to be tendered the visitors tomorrow night
at Armory Hall will be a fitting and auspicious opening event
to the big celebration. The committee respectfully urges
every resident of this community to be on hand and extend
a welcome greeting to the visitors and make them feel that
they are at home with the best people on earth. The following excellent program will’be rendered, after which every—
body will be given an opportunity to become acquainted with
the visiting strangers:
Orchestra.

aud join in the festivities provided. The fun will commence
promptly at 11 a. m. and will conclude with a grand moonlight dance about midnight. The program in detail is as

The TRANSCRIPT to-day publishes another set of engravings, comprising scenic and
. other views in various parts of Nevada County. The publication of these attractive views
will be continued from day to day, during the stay here of our Knights of Pythias excursionists and will doubtless prove interesting and attractive feature, as they will thus be
enabled to enjoy a panoramic view of-the entire county and better realize our resources.

Guard Hurst was also captured after running across the

A big posse surrounded the factory, finally shooting one
