By Carrier, s i Delivered toany part{of§the city. 12 1-2c Per Wee itil ane Ready to Receive Our Visitors. HE EXCURSIONISTS2to Nevada County left San Francisco early this morning. and will arrive here this evening where they will be royally received and welcomed by our people. At Colfax the visitors were warmly greeted by the Nevada City Band and the. special reception committee appointed for that purpose. Upon their arrival at this city they will be escorted to headquarters already provided for them, and later on they will meet our citizens at Armory Hall, where a public reception will be tendered them. Armory Hall has been tastefully decorated for the occasion and presents an inviting appearance. The band will give a concert in front of Armory Hall shortly. after the guests arrive, and during the interim before the ‘commencement of the program in the hall, an orchestra will discourse sweet music. The opening remarks will be made by Thos. S. Ford. The Mandolin Club will then render a selection after which the address of welcome will be made by Hon. E. M. Preston. Miss Rogers will render a vocal solo, as will also Dr. O. Swayze, and the musical program will then conclude with another selection from the Mandolin Club. An informal reception will then be tendered to the visitors and our people will have an opportunity to form their acquaintance and personally welcome them. It is probable that an impromptu dance will conclude the evening’s festivities. The picnic and camp stew will be the great event of tomorrow. The extensive program of interesting features as published in yesterday’s TRANSCRIPT, will be faithfully carried out and will be an endle~s source of entertainment from 11A M until midnight. An immeénse crowd will go to the Park and all are assured a pleasant day’s outing. Adntission to the. Park will be as follows: Gentlemen, 50 cents; ladies, 25 cents; children between six and twelve years, 265 tents; child-en under six will be admitted free.. The fare on the electric road and N. C.N.G. R. R. from either this city or Grass Valley to the Park will be less than the usual rate, which is very low. Cars will be run on fifteen—-minute schedules, if necessary, in order to accommodate the large crowd expected. The cars will run until after midnight; so there will be no danger that those who remain until a late hour will be compelled to walk home. ae4 ee eee een ABOUT 300 VISITORS COMING.
