Covillaud has commenced divorce proceedings in the Yuba County Superior Court against her husband, Sidney H. Vawter. She charges him with neglect, failure to provide, and extreme crue Ity. They were married at French Corral in this county on November 28, 1894, and plaintiff has been living for some time with her relatives at the Oregon House. The defendant to the action has been a book agent and teamster. When Attorney Covilland wrote to him some months ago informing him that the suit of the grounds on which the divorce was to be asked for. eee eee Horrible Roads. A gentleman of San Francisco was. here last week on a. visit to this city and Grass Valley and in company with a well-known citizen took a drive through. the streets of both towns. At Grass Valley he found the streets in fine condition, while in Nevada City he says they are a disgrace to civilization.
