Miners’ Association,
It being represented that a mistaken
idea appeared to prevail among some
valley residents that the Association
was willing to aid or connive at evasions of the law, in direct contradiction
to the spirit and purpose of the Association, the following resolution was
adopted: Whereas, An erroneous impression seems to have been created in
certain quarters respecting the purposes and objects for which the California Miners’ Association was organized; therefore, be it Resolved, That
this committee calls especial attention
to Section 2 of Article I of the Constitution of the above Association, which
sets forth the objects of the Associa,
' tion, as follows, to-wit: “Section 2.
The objects of this Association shall
be to protect, develop and foster the
mining industry of California ia all its,
branches.” Further Resolved, That
the California Miners’ Association will
in no manner aid or encourage any
mining in violation of any law or the
lawful decree of any court.
An Object Lesson.
Pasadena News: Yesterday the
writer received an offer on some of his
new wheat. Itis just twice what the
same wheat would heve been worth at
the same place a year ago. As the cost
of production is about stationary the
present price yields many times the
profits, for indeed, there were no profits
at last year’s price. At the same time
silver continues to go down. Those!
tables of Coin’s “Financial School”
quoted by Bryan last. summer about
wheat and silver always going up and
down together look ra:her “amusing
