An Object Lesson. Pasadena News: Yesterday the writer received an offer on some of his new wheat. Itis just twice what the same wheat would heve been worth at the same place a year ago. As the cost of production is about stationary the present price yields many times the profits, for indeed, there were no profits at last year’s price. At the same time silver continues to go down. Those! tables of Coin’s “Financial School” quoted by Bryan last. summer about wheat and silver always going up and down together look ra:her “amusing these. days. ; eae Tar Alaska gold cure is a tonic that puts vigor into the limbs of old men, courage into the blood of the timid und hope into the hearts of the despondent. At Grass Valley yesterday while a ‘piano belonging to D. F. Bell of this city was being removed from Lord’s. Hall, one of the men let go and the piano slid to the bottom of. the. stairway. The instrument was quite badly damaged. There is an abundang¢e of fruit of all kinds this year, and in many orchards in this vicinity the trees are loaded down. Many of the miners in Amador and Calaveras counties are quitting work } and leaving for the Klondyke, Over 200 have left Amador county. Here is a chance for idle miners. who want to work.
