operate, lease, sell ond maintain warehouses, and to carry on the
trade or business of warehouse men, removers, storers, packers
and carriers of personal property of every description,
To issue warrants to persons warehousing goods
with the Company, and to lend money upon the security of such
goods.
To purchase, acquire, construct, operate, own :
and lease docks, slips and the necessary workshops, buildings,
machineries and other conveniences; to carry on the business of
proprietors of docks, wharves, jetties, piers, and of shipowners,
shipwrights, enginemen, dredgers, tugowners, wharfingers, com=
mission agents, merchants and any other business which can be
conveniently carried on in connection with the above.
To carry on all or any of the business of
shipowners, ship brokers, insurance brokers, managers of ship+
ping property, freight contractors, carriers ‘by land and sea,
bargeowners, lightermen, forwarding agents and general traders,
and to purchase, take in exchange or otherwise acquire and hold
ships and vessels, or any shares or interests in ships or vessels,
and also shares, stocks and securities of any companies possessed
of, or interested in, any ships or vessels, and to maintain,
repair, improve, alter, soll, exchange, or let out to hire or
charter, or otherwise deal with ond dispose of any ships, vessels
or shares or securities, as aforesaid, and to build, fit out ond
repair ships and vessels of every descriptions; to buy, sell, own,
hold, trade and deal in stocks and bonds of other corporations, and
to enter into ony and all contracts, and to acquire, buy, hold
sell, grant, deed, pledge, mortgage, lease, trade in, deal in,
improve and handle any and all kinds of property, real or personal,
including stocks ond securities issued by any and oll corporations.
