They returned to Truckee on the noon train, Mrs, Maggie Allen was before the Grand Jury thie afternoon in the matter of the Griffith’s case, and when she came out into the Sheriff's office, she was orying quite freely, and evidently much disturbed. : Sheriff Getchell arrived on last evening’s train with Mre, Maggie Allen and Richard Bennetts, and they were placed in the county jail. Considerable difficulty was experienced in locating Mrs, Allen, bu! she was finally arrested at San Jose by Sheriff Langford. When the Sheriff arrived on the train with his prisoners they attracted considerable attention, as it is thought they will give evidence that will go far toward clearing up the Griffiths case. Mrs, Allen looks worn and haggard, having been interviewed several times since her arrest, and seems to appreciate the position in which she now finds herself. In an interview last night, Mrs, Allen positively stated that she did not know how Joseph Griffiths came to his death. She admitted that she had trouble with her husband, but she said she would not speak uptruthfally or accuse him of complicity in a crime of which she knew nothing. If Mrs. Allen and Bennett are tobe prosecuted on the charge of adultery, it will probably be in some other county, unlese they confess to having been intimate in this county. Officers Elected.
