Condition of the Men Who Were Blown Up at the Eagle Bird. From Dr, Tickell, who was summoned to the Eagle Bird mine to attend the two men blown up by an explosion there Wednesday afternoon, we learn the following regarding the condition of the men: frank Means was rendered totally blind, both eyes being almost blown or burned out. His face and head were fearfully cut by the flying fragments of rock. One small piece entered the side of the nose near the forehead and passed through up -into the head, leaving a wound into which a probe could be inserted over an inch. Another particle of rock struck Means. in the lip, tearing an ugly wound. His face and head were terribly bruised, as well as his entire body. The doctor thinks he has ‘suffered more or less internal injury and is very doubtful of his recovery. The injured man is a relative of Jarvis Means, who is well known in this city,H. Staples, the other man, had one eyé lose it also. He was terribly bruised about the face, head and body, but will probably live, The force of the explosion was so great. ada county now: on sale at James Kinthat the heavy steel Burleigh. drill was . *£4D's, Commercial street.
