Ware, of Coren, has located at Grass Valley. The funeral of the late Richard Hancock will take place at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Miss Lucille Smitten was guatented from the Girle’ High School at San Francisco this week. Superintendent Mainhart has had an electric motor izistalled at the Bullion mine to do the pumping. J. H. “Terrill, who has been assistant _ superintendent of a mine in Lassen county, is here on his" way back to his home in Alameda. The mine has quit tor the winter. Misses Mary Douglass, Nellie Fiske, Nellie Cassidy and Irene Hicks are expected home tonight from San Jose where they are students in the State Normal School. Rev. Frank Greeley, who has been preaching in the Congregational charch during the absence of Rev. B. Dent Naylor in the east, will leave with his wife next Tuesday for his home in “Berkeley. Mr. and Mrs. Naylor. will arrive from New York next Thursday Judge Prewett Presides. Judge Prewett of Placer. cognty today heard two Superior Court matters in which Judge Nilon was disqualific In the matter of the estate and gt dianship of Clara, Edward and Frank Brown, minors, the final account of David .E. Morgan, the guardian, was allowed and he was discharged. The charge of contempt brought against Henry M. Brown, a rancher near San Jose, for failing for the past 22 months to pay an allowance of $12.50 &@ month to his wife, Phoebe Brown of Grass Valley, who has a suit for divorce pending against him, came on tor hearing, W. A. Sleep appearing as the woman’s attorney and Hon. J. M Walling as the man’s. It was shown that the affidavit filed by Mr. Brown was not served upon her, therefore she was given 20 days’ moré time to file a eounter-sfidavit. He claims that his property has not more than paid expenses for the past two years, and he has not paid the allowance simply because he did not have the money. oe A Wedding Tonight. At eight o’clock this evening Louis Roetticher, a minér, and Miss Bessie Harris will be married at the home of the lady’s mother on Gold Flat. Rev. Je W. Phelps will perform the wedding ceremony. They are very worthy and esteemed young people. Mr. Roetticher has fitted up a comfortable home, on Nevada street. Trath Is Mighty.
