The grand.annual ball to be given
under the auspices of Laurel Parlor of
Native Danghters at Armory Hall on
New Year's night promises to be a very
enjoyable affair. Good music has been
engaged for the joyous occasion, and
unless all signs fail the big hall will be
filled to overflowing when the grand
march starts.
‘There are sixteen young ladies practicing every day for the minuet, which
isto be. given at the big ball for the
entertainment of those in attendance.
The dancere, which comprise two sete:
areas pretty as can be and they will
execute the movements ef the minuet
with much grace and ability, This
number of the program will alone be
worth the price. of admission, and the
spectators cannot fail to appreciate
the pretty sight that is to be given,
The decorations will be grand, as the
Native Daughters are perfecting arrangements to exceed anything in that
way that they have attempted for several years. Pink and white are to be
the prevailing colors, and the interior
of the hall qill show handsome designs and artistic taste in profusion,

Ribbon to Be Used.
Ribbon will be much used for collars, belts, soft girdles and corsage
bows this season. The pouch-front
is frequently trimmed with a large,
full rosette of ribbon placed a little.to
the left or in the centre, or with a bow
of several loops and ends of lengthwise
effects that ie worn on the side of the
bodice. A plain albatross or silk waist
may be trimmed witb stripings of nartrow velvet ribbon and finished with a
rosette on the left side. This is an excellent way to retrim an old bodicé.—
