Joseph Martin was walking up the
street and saw Haley strike Morgan a
blow, and blood began to flow from his

for, and he did not know what he said,
He could not swear whether it was the
first blow struck or not.
This afternoon the taking of testimony was resumed, W. F. Prisk being
the first to take the witness etacd.
Mr. Prick testified that Haley called
him up by telephone and told him that
he heard that Morgan and McCloskey
was going to reuew the attack on him
Saturday evening; that he told Haley}.
to take any ingulte and not to have]
any trouble unless it was forced on
him; that if it was forced on him to
protect himself as® best he could.
Witnegs stated that he cal ed up D. E,
Morgan by ’phone and told him that
it was reported that MoOloskey and
his (Morgan’s) brother would attack
Haley again and that in justice to him,
himself and Haley be had called him
up and informed him, in order to
evoid any trouble that might bappen.
Witness stated he did not make any
threats over the telephoné and what
he said was not threats; that he did
not say that Haley was heeled,. or
anything to that effect. Witness also
stated that McOloskey called him up
by ’phone in the afternoon and asked
if be or Haley had threatened him;
that he replied that he nor Haley had
made any threate and hat if he (McOloskey) had any difference with any
of his employes, to come down and
see him.
Thomas Ingram, Charles Prisk and
Henrf Argall, who beard Mr. Prisk
telephoning to Mr. Morgan, made
about the same statement of the affair.
