THAT MINERAL DISPLAY.
Arfangemonts Heretofore Made Are Undone and a New Start Made;
The meeting held'at the Courthouse
last evening pursnant.to a call issued
‘by the Board of Trade officers was well
«attended by representative citizens.
Chairman Zeitlér of the’ Board of
‘Trade called the meeting to order. In

from ‘Jafian ‘Sontitag relative to the
prépésed mining fair at San Francisco
next month.
Mr. Sonntag was introduced. He
spoke in opening of the delay in using
the ‘appropriations made by the national and State governments for the
building of debris dams, and of the efforts.of the State Miners Association
to hasten operations. He believes now
, that some definite results will be atvtained within ninety days.

Resolved, That we respectfully request the Board of Supervisors of Nevada county to hold a special session
and make an appropriation to assist in
making a mineral exhibit-from Nevada
county at the fair in connection with
the Miners’ Jubilee in San Francisco.
Senator Preston moved that the
Board of Trade exhibit committee be
committee to be appointed. Carriéd.
Mr. Walling moved that a committee
of thirty-five, including the exhibit committee, be appointed by the exhibit
committee.T. H. Capr moved as an amendment
that the exhibit committee and five
citizens of Grass Valley select the general committee. Accepted and carried.
The following were selected from
Grass Valley: George Mainhart, John
F. Kidder, J. Weissbein, D B. Marwick,
C. E. Clinch.
Pierre Duryee of the San Francisco
Chronicle was introduced and made a
brief talk saying that he was here to
gather data for a mining edition of the
Chronicle, .
Sydney Smith, the mining promoter,
was called upon and expressed his
faith in Nevada county’s ability to
make the display a success. He said
he would give his check for as large a
sum to aid making the display. as
would any other.man in the county,
The following were appointed a com+
mittee to wait on the Supervisors and
ask an appropriation: Messrs. R. O,
Walrath, J. A: Lipman, E. M. Preston,
H. Lane, E. J. Rector, Fred Zeitler, C.
E. Uren, J. F. Kidder, ©. E. Clinch, ©.
F. McGlashan, George Mainhart, ©. D.
Eastin, J. S. McBride, F. J. Thomas, W.
H. Martin, E. Tilley, L. L. Meyers.
Julian Sonntag was requested by the /
meeting to secure on behalf of Nevada
county two thousand feet of space in
the Mechanics’ Pavilion for the Nevada
county exhibit. &
. Charles McElvy of Little York.township was present and said that he
would do all in his power to aid in the
work at hand,
