. At the Churches Tomorrow.
At the Episcopal church tomorrow
morning there will be a sermon-at 11
o’clock, Sunday school at 12:30, and in
the evening a Christmas service. At
this service the choir will be assisted
by an orchestra. On Christmas day
there will be morning prayer, : holy.
. communion and sermon at Hi a. m.
On Christmas morning m will be
celebrated at St. Canice Cathdlicchurch
at 6, 8 and 10:30 o’cleck. ‘The 10:30
mass will bea High Mass, at which a
full choir, with orchestral accompaniment,will render Albert. Rosewig’s Mass
with Rossi’s Adeste Fidelisand Tantum
Ergo. After the last mass benediction
of the Blessed Sacrament will be
given. The choir will be under the direction of professor Davis. Rev. P. J.
~ Clyne will officiate at these services.
« Inthe morning Pastor Phelps’ will
preach a Obristmas sermon on “The
Shepherds and the Star.” The choir
will render some special Christmas
music, including carols. There will be
areception of members at the same
time. In the evening the Christmas
cantata, “The Holly and the Mistletoe,”
will be sung by the Sunday schoolassisted by the choir. There will also be
recitations and dialogues. Two Ubristmas trees are being fitted up and each
pupil will receive a gift of a nice book.
At the Congregational church. services will be conducted both morning
and evening by the pastor, Rev. J. Sims.
Subject in the morning, “The Mystery
of Incarnation.” Evening subject,
“The Angel Torch Bearer.” Choice
Christmas anthems and carols will be
rendered by the choir.: The Christian
Endeavor will meet at the usual hour
led by Miss Mamie Richards. Subject,
“Our Royal Brother.” Sabbath school
at the close of the morning service.
The Old Cnstom.
Every Christmas since he has been
in business in this city, “Giff,” the Native Son of Maryland, has considered
it a pleasant duty to send to this office

Next Monday a famous feast will be
served to the guests of the Union hotel.

The Star Restaurant.
Mrs. E. L. Hager, at the restaurant
on Broad street formerly occupied by
Mrs. Perry, will serve a fine turkey
dinner all of Christmas Day. She extends a cordial invitation to every body
to call and have areal nice dinner on
