The remains of John McHogh, who. Sarurday night was very much enjoyed
died Friday at Angels Camp from injaries received by a cave in the Lightner mine where he was working, arrived
here Jast evening and were buried this
afternoon from Trinity Episcopal
church. He was 26 years old and a
native ‘of this city. A miner named
Fisher was instantly killed by the cave
and~ two other men “besides McHugh
were injured. When the latter was
taken. out he was apparently but
slightly hurt, but had received fatal
internal injuries, His brother James
resides at this city, and bis sister, Mrs.
Fannie Scheck, at Sacramento. His
father and mother are both dead.
Will Deliver the Oration. .
‘Hon. E. M. Preston, of this city, Past
Grand Master, will deliver the oration
at the exercises to be held on January
8th at Sacramento by I'ehama Lodge,
F.&A.M., in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the organization
of that lodge. Ex-Senator Preston is
a gifted speaker and the: society is fortaunate in securing his services as orator. }
