Markel Glutied. The young, plump and juicy turkey was a scarce articleof diet around about Thanksgiving time, and even up to within a day or two of Christmas The people of this glorious and bountifal State were deep in surmises as to what dire calamity had overtaken the festal flocks. Turkeys were high, very high, being scarce at 30 cents and bringing as much as 85 cents per pound. The result was that the chicken industry boomed to no little degree, many-contenting themselves with the barnyard grouse. The day before Ohristmas they dropped to 25 cents and since then their descent has been marked, the price coming as low as twenty cents here and eighteen cents at Grass Valley. At San Francisco the slump is phenominal. Tarkeys can be had galore for ten and twelve cents, with fair prospects of rating still lower. Large numbers have been sbipped to the Bay City from the East and the markets are now virtually glattei. The scarcity enigma has been solved. Farmer Corntassel held back his delectable birds Thanksgiving Day in the hope of reaping a golden harvest Christmas and New Years, but in this he bas been brought to face the solemn realization that if he cannot.part with his flocks at a reasonable price he is apt to see them @ drug upon his hands. ‘Superior Court. CoHin in that the signature, which id by” mark, was not witnessed by two parties as witnesses thereto, in accordance with Sec. I4 of Code of Civil Procedure. Said motion was taken under advisement by the Court. The deposition of Ellen Ruth Miles was then reed by counsel for plaintiffs. In the matter of the estate of J. M.
