The Union Ice Company looks forward to @ very Succesefal season, There are 600 cars to be loaded, after which the big ice houses will be filled. Tuesday the Netional Ice Company began operations at [celand with a large force of men, The ice is said to be a foot thick. At Prosser creek work was started today (Thursday), the ice being now thick enough to harvest. Work of installing an elevator at the Henry ice ponds in Truckee has been completed and all is in readiness to begin operati-ns when-the ice attaint sufficient thickness. Ths cold nights have been beneficial and the absence of snow makes the ice of better quality than usual. The busy season has now come and things will soon be booming.—Truckee Repubiican. ee ss ee eee What an Exehange. Says About Them. The Petaluma Argus of Deo, 26th speaks of the Ervin Brinkall’s production of “Oamille,” as follows ; “The Ervin Blunkall Company opened their Petaluma engagement last evening with “Camille” and it proved 8 worthy vehicle to demonstrate the ability of the company, which is one of the strongest dramatic organizations that have ever appeared here. Edna Elleemere’s interpretation of th2 character of Camille was strong and convincing, but pot overdrawn. She showed herself to be an actress of great ability, and is one of the best that bas ever appeared here in some time. Ervin Blunkell as Armand gave & strong delineation of the passionate lover, whose love is turned to frenzied hate. The rest of the cast was fully up to the standard of Mies Ellesmere and Mr, Blunkall.” ‘“‘Oamille” will be the bill at the Nevada Theatre on ‘Tuesday evening, the second night of the Blunkall engage. ment here. The program last night was made of both classical and popular numbers. Most of the latter, however, were introduced as encores, of which there were many. The audience ¢ould not get enough it seemed, and Signor Rivela was exceedingly liberal with granting their demands, Every number was encored and still the audience was not satisfied. The band will give another concert at the theater tonight, and those who failed of the opportunity to be present last night should grasp the last chance this evening of listening to what is without a doubt the grandest aggregation of musical talent in the country.
