A N ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE 8UNLA set Telephone and Telegraph Co., its suc
cessors and assigns, the right to place, erect
and maintain poles, wires and other conduc
tors for the transmission of electricity for tele-phone and telegraph purposes in and upon the
streets, alleys and public highways in the City
of Nevada, andto exercise the privilege of oyerating telephones within the said City.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Nevada
do ordsin as fellows;
Section 1. The City of Neyada hereby grants
to the Sunset Telephone and Te'egraph Co., its
successors and assigns, the right aod privileget
place, lay, erect, maintain and operate in the
streets, alleys and puolie bighways within said
city, poles, wires and other conductors for the
transmission of electricity fer telephone and
telegraph purposes.
SECTION 2. Such wires or conductors shall be
stretched upon poles or other fixtures above
ground in a werkmenlike and proper manner;
said poles shali be erected at the edge of the
sidewalks in said City in a good and substantial
menneand shall be painted. Said grantee and
its assigns shal) csuse a wire to be placed in the
cu Hall of said City with a proper receiver
and transmitter, which they shall keep in good
condition and which shal) be open to use of the
City Marsha’, or other City Officers at all times,
for police or fire alarm purposes, free of charge.

the right to cause said grantee to move the lo
cation of any pole whenever the publie convenience shall require the location of the same
elsewhere; the expense of such removal to be
paid by said grantee,
Section 3. The said grantee, or assigns, may
make all necessary excavations in any of said

of erecting aad maiataining poles or other supports for said wires or conductors or repairing
the same, and said work shall be done in compliance with the necessary rules, regulaticns,
ordinances er orders which may, during the
continuance of this Franchise be adopted from
time to time by the Board of Trustees of said
City, and the game shall be done to the satisfac.
