Melean Pastor of the First Congregations Church, Oakland, gays of it : Castle Crags & Mt. Shasta, Haze. Creex, April 14, 1804. I am more than pleased with it— delighted. The place seems to me to embody ail available points for a camp— dry, firm soil, good water (the very best ) fine chances for dreinage, and scenery unsurpe-sabie. The view of Mt, Shasta is one of the very best to be had from any point; it is visible from every part of the ground i The view of the Orage also is fine. The gen eral opvironment is of the best. It ig au oval-shaped amphitheater, three miles long by one-fourth to three-fourths of a mile wide, with receding walls two to three thousand feet in height, with lines aad shades of beauty at every reach.
