Jackson's me Grocery. $ Politician Dies, Sacramento, December 4 —Oharles P. Kearney died in this city. last night after a long illness. He was a victim of consumption. Deceased had been s resident of Sacramento for seven or eight years and was well known. He came here a number of years ago from Los Angeles and during two or threa . sessions of the Legislature held im-. portant committee clerkships. Kearney was a lawyer by profession, Before coming to this city he worked in Los Angeles as a newspaper reporter. He was well posted in the arts of polities and took an active part in the affairs of the Democrats. It used to bethe boast of Kearney that he learned the trade of politics while he trained with Tammany in New York. He was-once a Representative in the New York Legislature. He was a native of that State, aged 41 years. eae. .
