oi ¢ a4 é “ operate by the hyd: . period of five or six = A TEMPORARY PERMIT. Smartsyille Hydraulickers Beg Satter County Supervisors to Grant One. The Democrat says: When the Sutter county Board of Supervisors metin Yuba City Monday morning the first business to occupy their attention was a proposition submitted by W. M. Kolman of the era Campbell mine remove aslide and reach a main channel where they wish to install a plant, which will enable them to prosecute all turther work by the. drift process, They admitted that some of the tailings resultant on the hydraulicking would go into the river, but claimed that, the bulk of it will be held back in a gulch. ‘They would ask that a competent man be sent to the mine at their expense, he to mark off the ground to be removed and to confine them to its limits. Attorney Robert T Devlin, who was present, stated that Mr. Kolman had made the same statement before the Anti-Debris. Association. The body favored putting Mr. Kolman under the the jurisdiction of the court before allowing him to proceed under a permit from Sutter county where injunction proceedings were brought against the mine in question last montb. As fora man competent to judge of the extent of the operations to which Kolman should be allowed to go, Devlin recommended George F. Allardt of San Francisco tothe Board.
